Woodinville Wine Country Hires New Executive Director

Adam Acampora will start his new position as Executive Director of Woodinville Wine Country on Monday, Jan.3, 2022.

Woodinville Wine Country has hired Adam Acampora as its new Executive Director.  Acampora comes to Woodinville Wine Country with more than 15 years of marketing and business development experience. Having worked for such iconic companies as Jack Daniel’s and Gibson Guitars, Acampora has been responsible for defining brands across the globe utilizing grassroots techniques, focusing on product and lifestyle consumer engagement.

Most recently, Acampora served as the first Executive Director for the Tennessee Wine Industry, where he has spent the past three and a half years spearheading the industry’s legislative initiatives, fostering strategic partnerships, building workforce education and certification programs, creating consumer marketing campaigns, and securing support and funding from the State for the industry.  He replaces Amber Schmitt, who resigned her position as Executive Director in late October.

Acampora began his journey into the wine world in 2015 with a boutique Tennessee winery, Natchez Hills Vineyards. There he managed sales, marketing, and brand development initiatives. Focusing on direct to consumer and wholesale channels, he was responsible for developing programs that helped Natchez Hills grow from 500 cases per year to 4,000 cases in just three years.

Born in New York, Acampora was raised in Virginia, where he attended Christopher Newport University, majoring in philosophy. Currently, he is a Wine and Spirit Educational Trust (WSET) Diploma student and hopes to one day pursue his Master of Wine certification. He has called Nashville home since 2006 but is excited to start a new chapter in his career in the Pacific Northwest. He, his wife Heidi, and their two-year-old son Arlo will officially become Washington residents in mid-December.

“I am excited for our family’s adventure to begin in the Pacific Northwest,” said Acampora. “The Washington Wine Industry has been on my radar for a couple of years now and I always envisioned making a move out this way as my career in wine evolved. I am so excited for the opportunity to join the community in Woodinville and can’t wait to work with some of the best wine producers in the country.”

Acampora will start his new job on Monday, January 3, 2022.
