Elephant Seven Opens First Tasting Room in Walla Walla

Elephant Seven Winery celebrated the Grand Opening of its first tasting room in downtown Walla Walla, WA. over the weekend of Aug. 24-26. The tasting room is located at 134 Poplar Street.

Cheryl and Joshua West, owners of Elephant Seven Winery, were all smiles as they celebrated the opening of their first tasting room at 134 W. Poplar Street in downtown Walla Walla, WA. over the weekend of Aug. 24-26.

Elephant Seven is a family-owned, boutique winery focusing on Rhone varietals from the Walla Walla Valley. Adopting a minimalist winemaking philosophy and natural winemaking techniques, Elephant Seven prides itself on making wine that has a distinct sense of place.

Elephant Seven is owned and operated by winemaker Joshua West and his wife Cheryl and supported enthusiastically by their two young boys, Matthias and Iver.
“We make wines that we like to drink — Rhone varietals made with minimal intervention that express their own unique sense of place,” West explains. “We do not use any chemical additives, color enhancements, enzymes, or any other foreign substances. We simply let the wine reflect the vineyard it comes from.”

Based in Walla Walla, Elephant Seven was founded in 2014 and currently produces 1,000 cases of wine per year. Wines can be purchased through the winery’s website — www.elephantsevenwine.com – at select retail outlets and restaurants in the Northwest, and, of course, at their new downtown Walla Walla tasting room.

The weekend-long Grand Opening celebration of Elephant Seven’s new Walla Walla tasting room showcased current releases, pre-releases and library offerings. Tasting Room hours are 11 a.m.to 6 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
