On Friday, Dec. 18, Woodinville based Tinte Cellars opened its second tasting room in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. Initially, the new tasting room and event space will be open for limited outdoor covered wine tasting and curbside pick-up. Visitors are being asked to make a reservation, but same day appointments will often be available.

Housed in an historic building dating back to 1912, Tinte Cellars owners Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman restored the landmark structure’s integrity to deliver an authentic experience that respects the storied robust Georgetown creative culture.

“In honor of our grand opening, all wine tasting guests will receive a welcome pour of our 2019 Tinte Cellars “Raise the Roof” Rosé,” said Teresa. “This special limited-edition rosé commemorates the uplifting renovation of our Georgetown building.”

By maintaining the historical exterior aesthetic and bones of the building and updating the interior with a balance of refined elegance and rustic influences, Tim and Teresa have created a welcoming environment that will provide ample space and lighting to feature rotating works of local artists.

Designed for flexibility to accommodate comfortable, regular wine tastings and special functions, the 1,600-square-foot interior space draws guests through the front door and out onto the 700-square-foot back patio through a tall glass garage door creating a seamless transition from the indoors to the outdoors. Steel and iron gates open the rear patio area to Nebraska Street. A well-appointed catering kitchen will help facilitate events of up to 100 guests on-site.

Over the last century, the now revitalized Tinte Cellars Georgetown tasting room was previously home to a general store, a folk-art shop, and a butcher shop and smokehouse. Its most recent incarnation was a notable scooter sales and service shop whose iconic rooftop scooter has been saved, restored, and has once again assumed its rooftop perch, albeit with a proud new paint job.

“Tinte Cellars Georgetown is a natural extension and part of our plan to weave our philanthropic social mission of ‘Great Wine for the Greater Good’ into the fabric of the community,” explained Teresa.. “Our goal is for Tinte Georgetown to be used by nonprofits to further their missions and the important work they do throughout Washington State and also by local patrons to come together and celebrate the best things life in the area has to offer.”

Tinte Cellars was founded in Woodinville, WA, in 2018. The winery’s production facility will remain in Woodinville, and Tinte will continue to welcome guests at its Hollywood Hill tasting room at 14455 Woodinville-Redmond Rd in Woodinville as well. The new Georgetown Tasting Room is located at 5951 Airport Way South, Seattle WA 98108.
